The SmartElex MCP73833 USB Li-ion–Li-Poly Battery Charger Module is a compact and efficient USB lithium battery charger designed for safe and reliable charging of single-cell lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries. This USB battery charger module uses a mini-B USB interface, making it compatible with computers and USB wall adapters.

It follows a proven three-stage charging process—preconditioning, constant-current fast charging, and constant-voltage trickle charging—to protect battery health and improve lifespan.

The module delivers a default fast-charge current of 500mA, which can be precisely adjusted between 100mA and 1000mA by soldering a through-hole resistor, allowing users to match the charging rate to specific battery capacities. This makes it an excellent choice for embedded systems, portable electronics, and battery management applications.
